rt School 이란 독자적으로 아트만을 전문으로 가르치는 예술전문대학을 말합니다.
근래에 많은 학생들의 미국 미술 유학이 4년제 종합대학의 미술학부가 아닌 바로 이 Art School 들을 중심으로 이루어지고 있는 추세입니다.
미국에서의 학부 수업은 대부분 정해진 커리큘럼을 따르도록 정해져 있고 또한 전공 이외에 기타 많은 교양과목을 이수해야 합니다. 그러나 Art School 대부분의 수업이 Art 중심으로 짜여 있어 좀 더 전공 중심의 대학 생활을 영위해나간다는데 그 강점이 있을 것입니다.
